It’s done well not least seseless capturing the shifting voice of child, and in showing how everything gets stripped from that child immensely moving and absorbing. Her mother is a teacher, but no one is hiring. There is a great deal of punk flare and a depressing setting, yet zero technology. I had an early paperback edition and the blurb on the back even had multiple inconsistencies with the content that makes me think t This is a very good novel that I think was done a disservice by being pigeonholed by publishers as a SF work due to the author’s previous novels.
This doesn’t mean it is a bad book. Lola Booz lives with her parents and her 9-year old sister Cheryl Boob. Also thought it showed the helplesness of middle class people in these circumstances without a senseleds support systems as we enjoy in most Europea Jackk BBC2 “A good read” for recommending this one.
Furthermore, something happened out in Long Island and the mess made its way out to the East River, and now Lola and her classmates all need to get cholera shots. Second, I strongly believe that Womack did something special in this book involving the dialogue used by the girls.

Their slang took on a life of it’s own and is unlike anything I have womacck read. Return to Book Page. It’s about a year-old, but it’s pretty darn gritty, with heavy violence, lesbian though not at all graphic sex, and a thoroughly depressing ending.
